Join forest educator, Virginia deCarle on a hike in Bancroft’s beautiful Eagles Nest Park, now offered on four different dates in 2023., July 4, July 11, August 1, and August 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. This popular program is suitable for all ages, including families with children.
Hear about the local forest industry and its impact on the region. Learn how to identify different tree species by feeling the bark, examining the leaves, and looking at the canopy.
The forests on Eagles Nest are home to a variety of flora and fauna. deCarle will help you see what you may have first overlooked. What evidence is there on the forest floor or in the trees that indicate the creatures that make this forest their home?
There are a few different ecosystems in the park, and deCarle will help you understand what they are and their importance to the plants, trees and wildlife who live there.
deCarle developed this Nature Connects program and has a great deal of experience facilitating programs at Eagles Nest and in Algonquin Park and other parts of the region.
